SERVING THIS COMING WEEK:

(Acolytes next Sunday) – Sofia Floyd, Kelly Owenya, Crucifer – Indica Keech
NEW PORTALS OF PRAYER (April to June) are still available at the back of the church and in the church hallway.
ORDER EASTER LILIES TODAY (last day to place your orders) to beautify our festival services! Cost per plant is $15.00. Order envelopes are at the back of the church … fill one out, include payment, and place in the offering plate or hand it to an usher. You can take your plant home after the English service on Easter Sunday, April 21.
EASTER ROSE FUND COLLECTION TODAY: The ushers will be at the back of the church after both services today to collect donations for the Easter roses that decorate our cross on Easter Sunday. The Altar Guild would like to thank you for your generosity in helping us to offset the cost of the Easter decorations.
OUR FINAL MIDWEEK LENTEN SERVICE happens this coming Wednesday, April 10, at 7:00 p.m. We focus on Chapter 5 of First Peter, and again a time of refreshments and fellowship will follow the 45-minute devotion. Our Academy’s Board of Directors serves as host for the fellowship hour this week.
ADULT BIBLE CLASS NOTES: Today we move into a new topic, “Death and the Life Hereafter,” tying together Holy Week, Easter, and the sorrow experienced by our church family after many funerals in the past 12 months. Class meets in the church after German service. Next Sunday the class takes a one-week break because of Confirmation, but then resumes at 9:45 on Easter morning and keeps meeting right through June! Join us; we’d love to have you!
CONFIRMATION SUNDAY CHANGES: We will not have a single combined service on Confirmation Sunday, April 14, as in years past. Instead, the regular schedule of two services (8:45 German and 11:00 English) stays intact throughout the month. Four confirmands will speak their public vows in the English Service on Palm Sunday.
INVITE FOR GOOD FRIDAY AND EASTER relatives, friends, or even church members you haven’t seen to join us for worship during the coming Holy Week. This is can be a very fruitful moment to reach out to people who benefit from coming close to Christ. Be the Lord’s own mouthpiece here!
YOUNG ADULTS “PIZZA AND STRATEGY” NIGHT is set for Friday, May 3, at 6:30 p.m. here at the church. We’re exploring ways of providing service to – and through – people in the target age bracket of 18-30 years. If you’re willing to be contacted on this and haven’t been already, pop me an e-mail at email@example.com. –Pastor Bugbee
