USING GREETERS ONCE AGAIN:  The system of greeters we formerly used to welcome people after services is being dusted off and tried again!  Anyone willing to help us could sign in on a sheet posted outside Pastor Bugbee’s office.  Thanks!

I’M HOPING FOR A STRONGER RESPONSE to the Seminar on Planned Giving set for this Saturday, April 6, 10:00 a.m. to 12 Noon here at our church.  My former colleague at Synod’s office in Winnipeg, David Friesen, will be here as presenter.  The easiest thing would be to use the sign-up sheet on the bulletin board outside my office right after this service.  Or you can call the church office (519-256-2667) or e-mail (cisrael@firstlutheranchurch.ca).                                                                                                                                                                                    –Pastor Bugbee

ORDER EASTER LILIES TODAY AND NEXT SUNDAY to beautify our festival services!  Cost per plant is $15.00.  Order envelopes are at the back of the church … fill one out, include payment, and place in the offering plate or hand it to an usher.  You can take your plant home after the English service on Easter Sunday, April 21.

SEMINARY GUILD DEADLINE TODAY:  If you’re willing to support our Concordia Seminary, St. Catharines, for the coming year, place $5.00 in an envelope marked with your name and “Seminary Guild,” and include it with your regular offering.  These funds from all over Ontario assist our future pastors in countless ways.  Help them as the Lord moves you!

OUR NEXT MIDWEEK LENTEN SERVICE happens this coming Wednesday, April 3, at 7:00 p.m.  We’re encouraged by the good attendance at these services!  You can prepare for this next one by reading Chapter 4 of First Peter before you come.  It will go fast, and give you a head start on the preaching.

EASTER ROSE FUND COLLECTION NEXT SUNDAY:  The ushers will be at the back of the church next Sunday to collect donations for the Easter roses that decorate our cross on Easter Sunday.  The Altar Guild would like to thank you for your generosity in helping us to offset the cost of the Easter decorations.

CONFIRMATION SUNDAY CHANGES:  When we take four young people into adult membership on Palm Sunday, April 14, it will not be in a combined service as in years past.  Instead, we remain with our two services at 8:45 (German) and 11:00 (English).  Confirmands will be received at 11:00, then attend their first communion four days later in Holy Week on Maundy Thursday.

NEW PORTALS OF PRAYER (April to June) are still available at the back of the church and in the church hallway.

LUTHERAN HOUR:  “Life Worth Living” (John 12: 12-36) – Jesus calls us to hate life in this world, not because he wants hateful people.  Rather, he wants us to more deeply love true life.  Hear this inspirational message by Speaker Rev. Dr. Michael Ziegler on the Lutheran Hour, Sundays at 560AM (WRDT) at noon.  Streaming audio and pod-casts at www.lutheranhour.ca.  A special devotion is also available online from Lutheran Hour Ministries each day during Lent at www.lhm.org/lent.
