USING GREETERS ONCE AGAIN:  The system of greeters we formerly used to welcome people after services is being dusted off and tried again!  Anyone willing to help us could sign in on a sheet posted outside Pastor Bugbee’s office.  Thanks!

TO BE BAPTIZED at the 11:00 Service today:  Dace, infant daughter of Andrew and Sonja  Bridgen.    Jesus said, “Let the little ones come to Me and forbid them not.”  God keep this child in the saving faith of Christ all her life through!

TO BE RECEIVED into membership at 11:00:  Andrew and Sonja Bridgen, coming to us by transfer from Peace Lutheran Church, Windsor.  We’re grateful to welcome them into our church family, and hope that we can be as much of an encouragement to them as their presence is to us!

ASLEEP IN CHRIST:  Elfriede Bierer (1940-2019), who died this past Thursday morning.  God give His comfort to Frieda’s loved ones, since her death comes just weeks after the loss of her husband.  Her funeral is set for tomorrow, Monday, March 26, at 11:30 a.m. at the Families First Funeral Home on Dougall Avenue.

MEETING AFTER 11:00 SERVICE TODAY:  Parents of our Senior Confirmation students gather in the Lounge following worship to prepare for public examination (April 7) and Confirmation Day (on Palm Sunday, April 14).  The time is coming fast!

PASTOR TORGERSON IS AWAY from parish.  Among other things, he will be teaching at our mission seminary in Usatovo, Ukraine (near Odessa), and will later represent the seminary at a gathering of theological teachers in Latvia.  Pastor Bugbee will be here throughout these weeks if you need pastoral care.

CONTINENTAL BREAKFAST MENU:  We are grateful for the offerings of some of our members to bring food for the Continental Breakfast planned for next Sunday between the services.  If you are willing to bring something, please add your name and food item to the sign-up sheet outside of Pastor Bugbee’s office.  This sheet will help us to plan a good assortment of breakfast items.  See you at the breakfast!

WE KEEP WALKING THROUGH 1 PETER as the Bible’s foundation for the preaching in these midweek services.  You can be well prepared for this Wednesday’s gathering—March 27 at 7:00 p.m.—by reading 1 Peter, Chapter 3!

SUNDAY SCHOOL UPCOMING BREAK:  Sunday School classes will not be held next Sunday, March 31, because of the fellowship breakfast being held between the two morning services that day.

PLAN TO ATTEND THE SEMINAR on planned giving and the overall Christian handling of money, set for Saturday, April 6, from 10 a.m. to 12 Noon at the church.  My former co-worker, David Friesen, will be here from Winnipeg to serve as guest presenter.  You can indicate your intention to come in any of these ways:

–           by phoning the church office (519-256-2667);

–           by e-mail to Cindy (cisrael@firstlutheranchurch.ca.); or

–           by signing up on the sheet outside my office.

I am eager that many of our people will respond to this gathering.  It could be a source of real blessing to people in their personal lives, and also in the life of our congregation.  Do join us!             –Pastor Bugbee

OUR CONCORDIA SEMINARY GUILD in St. Catharines is eager to have people “sign up” for the coming year of membership.  It’s only $5.00, and the funds assist our seminary students in countless practical ways.  Will you help?  Just place the $5 in an envelope with your name marked “Seminary Guild,” and place it with regular offerings.  Next Sunday is the deadline for this effort.

NEW PORTALS OF PRAYER (April to June) are now available at the back of the church and in the church hallway.

2019 LENTEN DAILY DEVOTIONALS (People of the Passion), printed by Lutheran Hour Ministries, are still available at the back of the church.  We also offer LARGE PRINT copies if needed.

LUTHERAN HOUR:  “Death Doesn’t End the Story” (John 11) – When you hear a person’s story, it’s hard not to like them.  See what happens when you listen to the story of Jesus.  Hear this inspirational message by Speaker Rev. Dr. Michael Ziegler on the Lutheran Hour, Sundays at 560AM (WRDT) at noon.  Streaming audio and pod-casts at www.lutheranhour.ca.  A special devotion is also available online from Lutheran Hour Ministries each day during Lent at www.lhm.org/lent.
