TO BE BAPTIZED today at 11:00: Violet Eliza, infant daughter of Benjamin and Olivia (née Benko) Eberhard. Witnessing this baptism are Naomi Eberhard and Noah Benko. Jesus Christ said, “Let the little ones come to Me and forbid them not.” God keep Violet in her baptismal grace all her life through!
ALTAR FLOWERS were placed this morning to the glory of God and in thankfulness for the baptism of Violet Eliza Eberhard. May God be with you and your family on your baptism day and always.
TODAY’S A ONE-DAY RECESS in Sunday School and the Adult Bible Class, while our “Fifth Sunday Brunch” is going on between services in the Auditorium. Thanks to all who shared food courses with us! All classes resume next Sunday, October 6.
SIGN UP FOR PICTURES YET in our upcoming 100th Anniversary photo directory? We’ve had a strong response from our member families, and there are a number of time-slots still available on the sign-up sheets outside Pastor Bugbee’s office. Choose a time before you leave today! You need not purchase any pictures, but just sitting for the photos will include one complimentary picture … and we’ll have your family included in our directory, set to come out in time for our church’s centennial in 2020.
EVERY-DAY BIBLE READING IN 2020 is a spiritual discipline that a growing number of our members are committing to. We’ve got a list of individuals and families who want to join our bulk order of the Today’s Light Devotional Bible, which divides the entire Scripture into workable daily readings over a 2-year period. If you add your name to that list today, we can get you a good bulk price for this hard-bound volume … less than $40 Canadian per copy.
GOOD SHEPHERD IS HOSTING A BBQ to raise funds for Tirzah Krey, who, as you may know, is going to be moving to the Dominican Republic to serve as a missionary nurse for LCMS. Their BBQ is going to be held on October 5 from 12:30 to 3:30 in their parking lot. The menu includes either a hamburger or hot dog with a drink, and snacks ranging in price from $1-$3. They would love to have you come visit.
INTERNATIONAL LIFE CHAIN takes place next Sunday, October 6. All are welcome to meet at the front sidewalk of Windsor Regional Hospital Met Campus between 2:30-3:30pm. Signs will be made available to participants to show your public witness against abortion. If you would like more information, please contact Windsor-Essex County Right to Life Association at 519-969-7555 or visit their website at email@example.com.
PORTALS OF PRAYER, the daily devotional guide, is available at the back of the church and in the hallway leading to the auditorium. The new issue runs from October-December, 2019.
