VISITOR AND GUEST, we exist here as a family of believers gathered around the word and promises of Jesus Christ.  Your presence today is a real encouragement!  Please sign our guestbook in the vestibule after the service, and do let one of our ushers know if you need help with anything while you are here.  Come again soon, especially if you have no church home of your own in the area.

ATTENDANCE LAST SUNDAY (August 19):  German Service, 32; English Service, 83; TOTAL, 115.

TODAY’S USHERS:  Bryan Johnson, Scott McLeod, Cuthbert Owenya, Rob Stark

NEXT SUNDAY’S USHERS:  Rob Bierer, Jonathan Buller, Joshua Buller, Jeff Laszewski

CHURCH OFFICE CLOSURES THIS WEEK:  Our church office will only be open this week, Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday (August 28-30), from 9:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m.

LUTHERAN HOUR:  “What is Best” (Philippians 1:  9-10) – Far too many people assume there are differences in commercial products, political candidates and school systems, but these same people believe all religions are the same.  Today we join with the apostle Paul in praying people may discern what is best when it comes to their Saviour.  Listen to today’s Speaker Rev. Dr. Ken Klaus on Sunday mornings at 1130AM at 6:30 a.m., 1600AM at 9:00 a.m., or 560AM at noon.  Streaming audio and pod-casts at www.lutheranhour.ca.

TO BE BAPTIZED today in the English Service:  Emilia Ana Christina Garay, infant daughter of Carlos Garay-Bustamante and Sarah née Baumann.  Jesus said, “Let the little children come to Me and do not hinder them” (Matthew 19:14).  God move these parents to keep bringing young Emilia to Christ so that she clings to Him always!

THE OLDEST MEMBER OF OUR CHURCH FAMILY, Mr. Art Anderson, marks 100 years of life this coming Wednesday, August 29.  Though age and weakness keep him away from attendance at our services, we name him in our prayers today and encourage you to write and wish him well as you are able!

ABOUT OUR ADULT BIBLE CLASS:  Before fall ever begins, I lay it on the hearts of as many of you as possible to resolve to join me for the Adult Bible Class on Sundays, 9:45-10:45 a.m., here in the church.  God gave us a strong “re-start” to these classes after the vacancy last winter and spring, for which I am deeply grateful.  The commitment to reading and studying God’s Word as a spiritual discipline is one of the primary measurements of a congregation’s health, and I hope you’ll be part of strengthening our church family—as well as your own faith-life—by making this resolve already now and praying to the Lord to help you keep it!                                                                                                                                                                                           Pastor Bugbee

REGULAR WORSHIP SCHEDULE RESUMES in two weeks on Sunday, September 9.  German Service remains at 8:45 a.m., followed by Sunday School and Adult Bible Class at 9:45.  The English Service then returns to its regular time of 11:00 a.m.
