PORTALS OF PRAYER, the daily devotional guide, is available at the back of the church and in the hallway leading to the auditorium.  The new issue runs from October-December, 2019.

SUNDAY SCHOOL IS UP AND RUNNING each week, 9:45-10:45 a.m. in the Auditorium.  God has given us a committed staff:  Hannah Garton, Grace Johnson, Abbie McLeod and Julia Moro.  It’s heartwarming to see this kind of leadership especially coming from young adults.  You can support them best by sending us your children on Sundays … and by your prayers for their work.  You’ll be hearing more from them soon!

YOUNG ADULTS MEET AGAIN, this time on a Sunday night, October 20, at 6:30 p.m.  If you’re one of those on our contact list, you’ll get a notice from Pastor Bugbee.  If you or a young adult you know would benefit from being added to the list, please let him know via e-mail to pastor@firstlutheranchurch.ca.

WE WANT EVERYBODY’S PICTURE in our upcoming 100th Anniversary photo directory.  We’ve had a good response up to now, and are even making arrangements for photos of shut-in members at home.  Do you know someone – or have people in your extended family – who have not yet signed up for the next photo days, October 23-26?  Help us out with that!  Get in touch and let them know we want them all!

SPECIAL GUEST IN SUNDAY BIBLE CLASS:  Tirzah Krey will be with us on Reformation Sunday, October 27, to tell about the work she’s preparing to do as a missionary nurse in the Dominican Republic.  Because of the strong ties between our church and the whole Krey family, you won’t want to miss this!  Join us!

PASTOR’S REQUEST TO ALL MEMBERS:  Please do everything possible to set aside Sundays, November 10 and 17, to be here in worship.  On those days our preaching – entitled A Call to Commitment – will be a special message I wish to lay on all your hearts as we move into our 100th Anniversary Year of 2020.  I ask you to make it a priority to be present on those dates.  God bless us as we try to find fitting ways to honour and thank Him for a century of His kindness in this place.

Pastor Bugbee

INTERNATIONAL LIFE CHAIN takes place this afternoon.  All are welcome to meet at the front sidewalk of Windsor Regional Hospital Met Campus between 2:30-3:30pm.  Signs will be made available to participants to show your public witness against abortion.  If you would like more information, please contact Windsor-Essex County Right to Life Association at 519-969-7555 or visit their website at windsoressexrighttolife@gmail.com.

LUTHERAN HOUR:  “Homeward” (Genesis 11-12:9) – The spiritually homeless people of the modern world have written God out of their story, but God remains the one Way home.  Listen to Rev. Dr. Michael Zeigler on the Lutheran Hour, Sundays at 560AM (WRDT) at noon.  Streaming audio and pod-casts at www.lutheranhour.ca.
