ATTENDANCE:  Sunday, January 7, 2018:  German Worship:  25, English Worship:  66

SUNDAY SCHOOL:  Please note Sunday School has been temporarily put on hold again due to the heat situation in the auditorium.  Even though there is some heat in that part of the building, it is not at its maximum output.  We will let you know as soon as possible when the situation has been fixed.

2018 OFFERING ENVELOPES:  The new boxes of offering envelopes for the year 2018 are still available at the back of the auditorium.  Please also help yourself to the 2018 church wall calendars, available for pickup at the same table.

INSTALLATION OF REV. ROBERT BUGBEE:  The Installation service for Rev. Robert Bugbee has been set for Sunday, February 4th at 4:00 p.m.  Following the service, there will be a dinner and reception at the Serbian Centre, with dinner being served at 6:00 p.m.  The meal will cost $35 for adults, $20 for children ages 6 to 10 years, and children under 6 years are free.  For those who would like to sit in groups of eight, you may reserve a full table of eight by informing Cindy of your wishes.  Please be sure to make your dinner reservations with Cindy following both services today (payment can also be made).  Reservations will be taken up to and including Sunday, January 28th.

HELP NEEDED:  We are kindly looking for volunteers who are willing to help clean our sanctuary.  We would like our church to look its best when we install our new Pastor on February 4th, and that includes washing down all the pews and hymnbook shelves etc.  We are planning on meeting on Saturday, January 27th at 9:30 a.m.  Please join us if you are able to give us hand!  The more hands we have, the lighter the work.  Thank you in advance for your willingness to help!

2017 INCOME TAX RECEIPTS:  The 2017 income tax receipts are now available.  Please see Cindy following both services to pick up your receipts, and help us to save postage expenses.

CONFIRMATION CLASS:  Confirmation class has now resumed.  Parents, please note that extra classes have been added to make up for some classes that were missed in October.  We will have extra classes on Saturday, January 20th and January 27th from 10:00 to 11:15 a.m.  If you have any questions, please do not hesitate to contact the church office.

ATTENTION JUNIOR YOUTH:  All Junior Youth (children ages 8 to 12 years) are invited to the next Junior Youth gathering.  The event takes place on Friday, January 26th at First Lutheran Christian Academy (3850 Locke St.) from 6:30 to 8:00 p.m.  Fun winter activities are planned for the evening.  Please make every effort to join us for this exciting event.

2017 ANNUAL REPORT:  All groups are asked to submit their annual reports to the church secretary as soon as possible.  Thank you for helping us to complete this informative book.

PORTALS OF PRAYER:  The January to March edition of Portals of Prayer is still available.  Copies of this wonderful daily devotional book are available at the back of the church and in the church hallway.

THE CANADIAN LUTHERAN:  The latest edition of The Canadian Lutheran is still available.  Please help yourself to a copy of this wonderful magazine at the back of the church.

LUTHERAN HOUR:  “How Well Does Jesus Know Me?” (John 1:  48-51) – It’s nice to have someone know and understand you.  Today the Lutheran Hour asks, “How do you feel about Jesus knowing you?”  Listen to today’s Lutheran Hour Speaker Rev. Dr. Ken Klaus on Sunday mornings at 1130AM at 6:30 a.m., 1600AM at 9:00 a.m., or 560AM at noon.  Streaming audio and pod-casts at www.lutheranhour.ca.
