CHURCH OFFICE SUMMER HOURS are again in effect this week:  Our office is open just Tuesday-Thursday, August 27-29, from 9:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m.  Regular hours will resume soon.

SUMMER SCHEDULE ENDS SOON:  After today we’ve got just one more week – next Sunday, September 1 – of the summer worship schedule with the English Service at 10 o’clock.  We return to the regular Sunday line-up on September 8 after a new school year begins.

LUTHERAN FOUNDATION CANADA announces that “our own” James Krestick has been named Gift Coordinator for Lutheran Church—Canada’s East Region.  (If you attended the Planned Giving Seminar here last spring, this is the role David Friesen carries out for Manitoba and Saskatchewan.)  We thank God for opening this avenue for James to serve, and ask the Lord to bless the great work he’ll do!

ABOUT 60 FAMILIES CAME OUT for the first round of photo appointments this past week so that they will be included in our historic 100th Anniversary Church Directory, set for publication in 2020.  Thanks to all who took time!  Soon we’ll announce the dates for the next round coming in October.  This is a wonderful start, and we’re so grateful!

YOUNG ADULTS MEET AGAIN on Friday, September 6, at 6:30 p.m. here at church.  Bring a little money to chip in for food we’ll order in.

CONCORDIA SEMINARY INVITES EVERYONE to the Opening Service of its academic year, set for Sunday, September 8, at 4:00 p.m. in the Seminary Chapel at 470 Glenridge Avenue, St. Catharines.  This year the Emeritus Crucis (Veteran of the Cross) goes to Pastor Thomas Prachar, recently retired President of the LCC’s Central District.  A fellowship hour will follow the service.

CELEBRATE FAITH NIGHT:  The Detroit Red Wings are officially launching a “Celebrate Faith Night” event for one of their games in this coming hockey season.  If you are interested in finding out more information, a poster has been placed on the bulletin board outside of Pastor Bugbee’s office.  An information session is being held this coming Wednesday, August 28.

LUTHERAN HOUR:  “The Lutheran Hour” presents another classic message from the archives, featuring Rev. Dr. Dale A. Mayer.     Hear this inspirational message on the Lutheran Hour, Sundays at 560AM (WRDT) at noon.  Streaming audio and pod-casts at www.lutheranhour.ca.
